Peripheral Positions in Early Greek

چکیده
This paper aims to provide a new approach to the development of clause structure in L1 acquisition on the basis of the distinction between LF-interpretable and LFuninterpretable features which is argued to have effects on learnability. The study concentrates on the acquisition of syntactic phenomena which are related to the syntax / pragmatics interface, namely focusing, dislocation and clitic-doubling in Greek. On the assumption that these syntactic phenomena involve a grammatical representation of certain functional features on ‘peripheral’ functional heads (CP / FP), the aim is to identify a developmental pattern that describes the sequence in which these structures emerge in Greek L1 acquisition. The early acquisition of the left-periphery is then juxtaposed to the relatively delayed acquisition of the inflectional domain.

Language context elicits native-like stop voicing in early bilinguals' productions in both L1 and L2
The way that bilinguals produce phones in each of their languages provides a window into the nature of the bilingual phonological space. For stop consonants, if early sequential bilinguals, whose languages differ in voice onset time (VOT) distinctions, produce native-like VOTs in each of their languages, it would imply that they have developed separate first and second language phones, that is,...

متن کاملThe Expression of the Divine Order Through the Art of Sculpture in the Greek Art Religion (According to Hegel’s Lectures on Fine Art and his Phenomenology of Spirit)
The art of Greek sculpture is the most complete and appropriate visual form of expression of the divine in the Greek art religion and similar types in the earlier and later religions. In Greek sculpture, form and content are in balance and interact with each other. The Spirit and the material have no dominion over one another. The spirit (divine) recognizes as its proper home the human body, an...
